Ryan Demorest
Entering his second season with the Wolverines, Ryan Demorest will take over as the Wolverines’ goaltending coach after spending a season assisting former coach Brad Gigliotti in 2009. Demorest will have his hands full in his first season with four goaltenders on the U-M roster in ‘09-’10.
Despite his young age, Demorest brings a wealth of lacrosse experience to the table, both as a long-time player and on the sidelines. An All-American at Birmingham Seaholm High School, Demorest played his college lacrosse at Limestone College and graduated with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing in 2006.
He began his coaching career immediately afterwards, joining on as a goalie coach and assistant JV coach at his old haunt, Birmingham Seaholm. The following year he took on the head defensive and goaltender responsibilities for Detroit Country Day’s varsity squad. Demorest has also been involved in numerous other camps and clinics both in Michigan and nationally.
Demorest comes from a rich lacrosse background with two brothers and two sisters who all played the sport (two currently coaching), and parents who are both currently active as as board member (father) and referee (mother). Demorest is currently single and resides in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
